| Thoughts on the Racing Family |
| 1/11/2010 - WE ARE CHILI BOWL BOUND! On our way to one of the greatest races of the year. Can't wait to see all the great drivers, the fantastic staff of the Expo Center, and most of all, the Rowdies. We attended all 5 days of racing last year but missed the final feature of the night when my husband suffered a heart attack. Not an easy thing to go through if you are at home with family and friends but what do you do when you are 700 miles from home with no one you know near by. Spend much time around racing and you realize what a tight knit group it is. But we have never raced or owned a car. We are only race fans yet the offers of help that came from the Rowdies was absolutely amazing and still make us tear up at the thoughts of their kindness. When we finally made it home last January, we were not sure that we would ever be able to come back to Tulsa. With the grace of God and my husband's stubborn, determined personality we are headed back. Maybe we will take things a bit slower this year, but we will be there and we will treasure just a little bit more, this privilege of being a part of this family called Racing. |
